Peace Poster Display

Celebrating 25 years of fostering a spirit of peace and international understanding in young people worldwide, attendees will be able to participate in creating a unique commemorative art piece inside the exhibit hall and see many winning posters on display in this special exhibit.

Environmental Photo Contest  

View photos of colorful landscapes, rare weather phenomena and wildlife captured by Lion photographers from around the world. Vote for your favorite photos. Purchase a 2014 photo contest calendar or enter the photo contest silent auction that benefits LCIF.

  • Environmental Photo Contest CeremonyMonday, July 8 at 3-3:30 p.m.   Gather at the photo contest display to hear the winners of the 2012-13 Lions Environmental Photo Contest.  All photos can be purchased through a silent auction. Funds will benefit LCIF. Or, purchase a 2014 photo contest calendar featuring many of the photo contest entries.

Social Media Lounge

Take what you’ve learned from the Twitter, Facebook and blogging seminars and get connected in the Social Media Lounge inside the exhibit hall. Representatives from SMiLE (Social Media in Lions Europe) will be there to give attendees hands-on assistance using these popular social media tools. Savvy social media users can post from the lounge, too!

Lions Clubs International Foundation Booth 

Be sure to stop by the LCIF booth to learn more about LCIF’s initiatives and how the Foundation can help your club or district further its humanitarian service goals. Staff members will be on hand to answer questions about donating to LCIF and the grant application process. Donations will be accepted in U.S. dollars and euros.

Lions Clubs International Special Olympics Opening Eyes Screening 

Celebrate more than 10 years of the successful partnership by witnessing this program in action. Special Olympics athletes will be screened during this demonstration event and information will be provided on how to get involved with this program. You can even volunteer your time during the screening. LCIF Chairperson Wing-Kun Tam will make an appearance at the event and speak on behalf of LCIF.

Strides: Lions Dance for Diabetes Awareness

Friday, July 5, 1:30-3 p.m.

Lions, get ready to dance!  “Come as you are” and participate in the Strides: Lions Dance for Diabetes Awareness event.  Help promote the benefits of healthy exercise for prevention and control of diabetes. Enjoy dancing to live music selections performed by the German Lions Symphony Orchestra, comprised of 40 Lions and conducted by Gregor Schmitt-Bohn. Participants will receive a Strides pin and certificate of participation.

 

LCIF Reception/Melvin Jones Fellowship Pinning Ceremony 

Monday, July 8, 3:45-4:45p.m.

Donors who contribute US$1,000 to become Melvin Jones Fellows or the next level of the Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow program during the convention will be presented with their pins by LCIF Chairperson Wing-Kun Tam.

Leo Lion Summit (TICKETS REQUIRED)

Hamburg Messe (HM) 10 a.m-4 p.m.

This special event will bring Leos and Lions together from around the world for a day of celebration and dialogue, including traditional opening and closing ceremonies, breakout sessions, a town hall meeting and networking luncheon. Orkester Norden Performance 

Congress Center Hamburg (CCH) 3:30-4:15 p.m.

Founded in 1993, Orkester Norden is a summer symphony orchestra consisting of young music students from the conservatories in the Nordic and Baltic countries (Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania).  Through the efforts of the Scandinavian Lions, one of their largest supporters, we are able to have them perform in Hamburg.  After the parade, come enjoy this wonderful concert!

Certified Guiding Lion for New and Rebuilding Clubs

The program has been expanded to support new and struggling clubs. This session will feature the latest in online training, how to develop a club officer mentor team and an assessment process to help struggling clubs. Attendees will also learn how to host and facilitate this interactive course so that the program is meaningful and fun.

German Lions Symphony Orchestra Performance
